Sarasota Music Club opened the 2022-2023 concert season with an outstanding performance by soprano Johanna Fincher on October 21. The performance of “Songs of Grace – Elegant Pieces to Lift Your Spirits” was held in the Sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church of Sarasota.

On November 18, flutist Rick Aaron will perform “Melodies That Capture the Heart,” accompanied by Lee Dougherty Ross on piano.

The December 16 concert, “A Classical Holiday Morning,” features the winner of the Florida Federation of Music Club’s 2022 Collegiate Vocal Competition, Andrew Kapsar, baritone. Sarasota Music Club sponsored Andrew’s participation in the audition and is pleased to introduce him and accompanist Nadiya Caspary, piano, to Sarasota music lovers.

Violinist Margot Zarzycka performs “Musical Postcards from Europe” on January 20, 2023, accompanied on piano by Haig Yaghoobian. In February, “Songs of the Jazz Age, Broadway and More” will feature Kate Delaney, vocals, and Bart Delaney, bass and guitar.

The Luca Stine Jazz Trio closes the club’s traditional concert season with “A Morning of Beebop, Ballads and Blues.” Luca, trumpet, will be joined by Michael Ross, bass, and Phil Magallanes, guitar. Among his many awards, Luca was twice selected to receive a Suncoast Music Scholarship, funded by a Sarasota Music Club and Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota partnership.

On May 13, the 2023 Suncoast Music Scholarship winners will perform in a concert co-sponsored by the scholarship partners at First Presbyterian Church of Sarasota. This special program begins at 3 p.m.
