A Delightful Interlude

November 19, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Enjoy a free Friday morning music program with the Afternoon Delight Quartet, known for honey-sweet harmonies and a wide selection of songs.

Decades mingle as Afternoon Delight gives voice to old standards by George M. Cohan, hits from the ’50s and ’60s, and selections from Broadway musicals, with tunes from silly to sentimental recorded by artists like the Beatles and Elvis.

This quartet has enjoyed singing together and delighting audiences along the Gulf Coast for 8 years, and each member’s individual performance history is extensive. Lead Dick Zarfos and Bass Jim Woods have won senior quartet state championships and placed 11th in an international competition. Baritone Vernon Sievers was an original member of The Heartbeats, a doo-wop group that appeared in “American Graffiti.” And Bob Amer, tenor, has performed with University of Notre Dame Glee Club and serves as business manager for this group and Sarasota Chorus of the Keys.

Sarasota Music Club hopes many music lovers will join us for this performance. It is open to the public, and no tickets are required – though masks are required and socially distanced seating is available.
